Wanted! Entrepreneurs with Big Ideas for 2012 “Launch Your Entrepreneurial Journey” Program
(TULSA, OK) – Tulsa Community College is offering aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to transform their business idea into a reality through its Launch business startup program.
The program, starting its fourth flight in 2012, supports taking an idea through the universal steps of starting a company in just 16 weeks. Launch matches emerging entrepreneurs with coaches and mentors that provide the tools and resources to build a successful company.
“Launch made the difference between getting my company off the ground or continuing with life as normal,” Launch Flight III graduate Rick Miller said. “It gave me all the tools necessary to create and build my model, to put together the team necessary to start and gave me the investment that allowed me to get off the ground.”
The program integrates local business “thought leaders” throughout the program to guide the entrepreneur through the process of accelerating their ideas into the marketplace. Sessions cover such topics as: business model development, market research, intellectual property, bootstrapping techniques and more. The sessions are held at different locations throughout Tulsa including the GableGotwals law office, SpiritBank and the TCC Center for Creativity.
TCC is currently accepting applications for Launch Flight IV through Jan. 13. Free informational meetings will be held Jan. 5 at the TCC Center for Creativity and Jan. 10 at the TCC Southeast Campus. Both information sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Up to 18 applicants will be selected for the 2012 program, which runs February through May.
